| Browser Support |
| This site was authored to conform with the current W3C HTML and CSS web standards and not for any particular browser. The W3C created these standards so the web would work better for everyone. New browsers, mainly, support these W3C standards; old browsers, mainly, don't. This site has been optimized to degrade gracefully on older, non-compliant browsers. |
| If you haven't already, you might consider upgrading to any of the following browsers. Doing so will allow you to use and view this and other websites as their creators intended. |
IE6 for Windows delivers fine support for HTML 4, CSS-1, and other important W3C standards. Don't worry if you don't know what that means; the people who build websites know. The browser is available free of charge. |
IE5 Macintosh Edition, released in March 2000, provides superb support for key web standards (CSS, HTML, XHTML, PNG, ECMA-262, DOM1HTML) and an elegant user experience. IE5.1, released December 2001, improves on its predecessor. The browser is available free of charge. |
Netscape 6.2 complies with important Web standards, including full support for XML and the DOM. These technologies can help web builders create powerful sites that work well. The browser is available free of charge. Netscape 6.2 fixes bugs in earlier releases, and adds support for Mac OSX. It is based on the standards compliant Gecko engine and open source Mozilla, which supports AIX, Linux, Win32, Mac OS, OpenVMS, HPUX, and FreeBSD, and which may be the most compliant of all current browsers. |
| HTML Standards Compliance |
There are 43 HTML pages contained in the site. Each HTML page has been validated against the Document Type Definition (DTD) recommendation of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) for HTML 4.0 Transitional. |
| Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) Standards Compliance |
Cascading style sheets compliant with the W3C recommendations for CSS Level 1 are used in the site for the formatting of page content. |
| JavaScript |
| There are 60 JavaScript include files used by the site. Additional client-side JavaScript is used in various pages permitting the dynamic display of information without the overhead of repeated calls to the web site host servers and separate HTML pages for each set of information. |
JavaScript must be enabled in your browser to view all the pages in the site. |
A series of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets are used to maintain scheduling, assignment, calendar, and status information. Each spreadsheet contains a macro that will generate the contents of associated JavaScript include files for uploading to the web site. This facilitates the timely and accurate updating of information displayed in the site and minimizes the amount of time required to keep the site current. |
